Disney’s arch-enemy, Universal Pictures, launches a big dud in R.I.P.D.


Disney had to suffer a few weeks ago while their Lone Ranger movie flopped and their arch-enemies at Universal Studios raked in the cash from their summer blockbuster, Despicable Me 2.

Now the shoe is on the other foot as Universal Pictures has launched perhaps the biggest dud of the summer – R.I.P.D, the $130-million action-comedy grossed just $12.8 million, only good enough for a seventh-place finish, according to the Los Angeles Times. Continue reading

Disney’s Alauni Resort appears to be too expensive and not satisfying

Aulani, in Hawaii, is “A Disney Resort & Spa is a family paradise with a touch of magic—where everyone can enjoy amazing adventures, both together and on their own,” according to Disney’s resort website.

The Aulani ressort is supposed to be “a Hawaiʻi Resort that celebrates Hawaiian culture, history and traditions.”  And their service is supposed to be “first-rate” and “impeccable.”

Woman dies after falling out of a roller coaster at a Six Flags amusement park in Texas


A woman died Friday evening in an accident while riding the Texas Giant roller coaster at a Six Flags amusement park in North Texas, authorities said, according to Fox News.

The accident happened just after 6:30 p.m. CT on Friday at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington. Park spokeswoman Sharon Parker confirmed that a woman died while riding the Texas Giant roller coaster but did not specify how she was killed. However, witnesses told local media outlets that the woman fell, according to USA Today. Continue reading
