Star Wars Celebration coming to Anaheim in 2015

Star Wars Celebration

At the end of Star Wars Celebration Europe’s closing ceremonies this weekend, Lucasfilm officially announced the details of its next official convention: Star Wars Celebration 2015 will be held in Anaheim, California, from April 16-19, 2015. Timed with the release of Star Wars: Episode VII, this promises to be a Star Wars Celebration like no other.

The move to Anaheim makes perfect sense because the Convention Center is all but attached to Disneyland. It’s also the site of the D23 Expo. Being that Disney now owns Lucasfilm, it would be surprising to see these events anywhere but Anaheim and Orlando when they take place in the U.S., according to IFilm.

Star Wars Celebration V and VI in the United States drew tens of thousands of “Star Wars” fans to Orlando in 2010 and 2012, according to Inside the Magic.

Star Wars Celebrations are large fan-gatherings to celebrate Star Wars. The event is designed to appeal to fans of all ages. Star Wars Celebrations usually consist of three days of exhibits, screenings, exclusive merchandise, celebrity guests, panels, autograph sessions, fan-inspired activities, and more. However, it appears that the Anaheim event in 2015 will be a four day event, according to ComicBook.com.
