Five-year old boy injured on Disneyland Paris Pirates ride

A five-year-old boy was in a Paris children’s hospital on Thursday after being “seriously injured” at the Disneyland amusement park near the French capital. Iban, who was with his father, fell out of a boat on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, according to RFI.

During the ride, the boy leaned back and somehow fell out of his boat and was   hit by another just behind. The child’s father immediately jumped out to   recover him, but not quick enough to prevent the accident, according to the Telegraph UK.

Disneyland horse freaks out during training and hurts a 13-year old girl

At Disneyland, a horse was in training to become a buggy horse. It was with three trainers, but became startled for an unknown reason and got loose from its reins, according to PerezHilton.

Authorities said while the horse was loose, it hit a 13-year old girl causing minor injuries, and she was taken to a hospital, as reported by the O.C. Register.

Disneyland must pay $8K to disabled man who was trapped on “It’s a Small World”

“Jose Martinez won one for a lot of people today: A federal judge awarded the California man $8,000 in damages from Disneyland, after he had to sit in the “goodbye room”of the “It’s A Small World” ride for 30 minutes, while park officials repaired it,” according to NPR.

Martinez, who suffered a spinal cord injury at the age of 16, became stuck on the ride on Nov. 27, 2009, and filed an official lawsuit in 2011. “The monorail at Disneyland was temporarily shut down after a wheel fell off and some smoke appeared,” on Monday – Presidents’ Day, this week, according to CBS News.

“Because the power was shut off as a safety precaution, a second train was stranded on the track. Passengers got stuck for about 45 minutes until that car was towed to a station. There, passengers were given front-of-line passes and free dining vouchers,” according to the O.C. Register.

“A Disney cast member is in the hospital after being struck by the vehicle of an undercover cop as she was leaving the park,” according to KTLA.

The accident happened at around 10 pm, on Monday night.  A cast member witnessed the accident and reported in a comment on the KTLA article that “This was not a u turn. This is NOT the victims fault. The driver was turning left from magic way onto Disneyland drive and hit her while she was in the crosswalk. I am the witness and I was feet from her in the crosswalk myself. Please report the news correctly. The officer is at fault!”

Another bad accident at Space Mountain as a contractor breaks several bones

A 37-year-old subcontractor, working for HSG Inc., fell while cleaning the Space Mountain ride at Disneyland Wednesday, breaking a leg, his right collarbone and several ribs, on Nov. 21, according to ABC News.

The worker was cleaning the roof in a bosun chair when it came loose shortly after 7 a.m., according to Anaheim Fire Marshal Jeff Lutz, according to CBS News.

Disneyland machinist critically injured at Space Mountain ride

“A machinist for Disneyland was critically hurt earlier this month in an accident at the theme park’s Space Mountain ride,” according to the Los Angeles Times.
